Hull: “Fundamentals of Futures and Option Markets”

A good book for getting started into the basic of futures and options is John C. Hulls book called “Fundamentals of Futures and Option Markets“.

John C. Hull is s a Professor of Derivatives and Risk Management at the University of Toronto. He studied Mathematics in Cambridge University, and holds an M.A. in Operational Research from Lancaster University and a Ph.D. in Finance from Cranfield University.

Unlike other books about finance, he jumps right into the matter and combines practical lessons and theory.

He has another book called “Risk Management and Financial Institutions” which will be useful for the research on Basel II.
